Silly question

Not being an observer I have very limited knowledge of EP's.

Now the 1.25 EP's I have seen 3mm - 25mm and upwards.

I have 5mm and 25mm Skywatcher EP's that came with a scope.

I have just bought a 35mm 2inch EP as it was cheap and why not.

BUT

Why don't you see any 2inch EP's under 25mm ?

Or is it just that they exist and everyone keeps them ?

cost is a factor from what i am told, you can get EPs that have both sizes, celestron ultima LX range and i think skywatcher had something similar too, the LERs maybe? will have to check the old catalog

EDIT - my bad, it was the skywatcher SWA not LER

links to both

hi there

the 17mm Nagler, Ethos etc are 2" but I think generally anything under 17mm has no advantage as a 2" due to the field stop size being smaller than 31.7mm

others will confirm something like this I'm sure.
