Easy way to calculate backlash ???

Hello is there an easy way to calculate basklash in your goto mount

I'm try to work out my Dec backlash and all I have been doing is writing down the Dec coordinates which were +72 deg 6 min 12 sec I then pushed the Dec button on the controller to move it in the opposite direction and when I noticed the scope moving I then wrote down these Dec coordinates which were +71 deg 02 min 06 sec. Then subtracted this from first numbers which gave me 1 deg 04 min 06 sec

Is this how you do it ??? Or is there an easier way to work it out ???
