Lunar images from 5/8/11...between the clouds

The weather was lovely for some lunar imaging last night - that is right up to the point that I had all my gear out and ready to go - then the clouds started rolling through in ever increasing bands. Oh well.

I was still able to image a few areas I've been looking to get.

First up is the area from Rupes Altai to Mare Nectarius. The cliff stands out nicely in the sunlight as do craters Theophilus, Cyrillus, and Catharina. Perhaps the ghost of Daguerre showing in the Mare...hard to tell. I drizzled this image.

Next the area to the E of Mare Nectarius.

Further south to the crater cluster Vlacq, Hommel, and Pitiscus...lots more craters here.

Finally the best I could do this evening with Vallis Rheita. The light wasn't optimal for this area nor was the focus. I could not drizzle this image as it just washed out what detail was present.

Enjoy.
