M81 & M82

Hi All:hello2:

please find attached a quick process sample of M81 & M82....something is clearly wrong, as there is some banding present. why that is, i dont know.. the un-processed example is fine, but lacks the detail without processing! anyway, here's how i did it:

Failand 27.4.11 2nd attempt at imaging M81 & M82

Orion 150 6"

Canon 20d

800 asa

57 subs 100 seconds

40 darks 100 seconds

20 bias 1/4000th sec

all 6 camera batteries 'died', so went home about 4am

stacked in DSS

Processed in photoshop 6 & pixinsight

rounded-off with sausage butty, complete with ragae ragae sauce and several cups of coffee!

didnt bother going to bed!

hope you like the image, but will hopefully post a re-processed example soon.

thanks, but by my own admission, the processing is truely awfull! I'm using pixinsight, and tried following harry's brilliant tutorial on histograms, but it doesnt seem to like my picture!!!
