tim26792
Afternoon all,I havnt got my telescope yet but have been using a pair of 15x70 bins I have bought while I wait. I was out with them last night and after about an hour or so I had dew all over the lenses. Will this happen with my scope on every session, basically what Im asking is do I need to buy some sort of anti dew equipment for my scope when it arrives. It is going to be a skywatcher 200p dobsonian.ThanksTim
Ad Astra
A dob, because the mirror is situated well down in the tube, is seldom troubled with dew. It can be an issue on the secondary mirror, though.A dew shield is basically an extension of the tube beyond the lens or mirror surface. Many make them out of inexpensive plastic and secure them with Velcro. Easy and cheap, also keeps out stray light and increases contrast in your views with every instrument.Search around on the SGL threads and you'll find plenty of DIY advice here.Dan
