Finally got my OAG working

But it's Pants!

After numerous attempts I've got my OAG working with Maxim and it found a star that it could track (needed an extension tube), at least that's a start.

The problem seemed to be the amount of X & Y error that it had to apply and I've ended up with sort of eggy stars.

I can't balance my scope with all the kit on with the standard counterweight shaft but I made sure it was heavier in the east, so I'm guessing the main problem I have is with polar alignment would that be right or could it be a combination both?

This is a crop of the offending shape of the stars, and the complete image.

Edit: This was 300 secs
