What do you do with one polarizing filter?

Recommended Posts

I now have in my possession a single polarizing filter. If I had two I would have a nifty variable polarizing filter, but I only have one. Can it be used for anything? I vaguely recall clouds polarize light, so would the filter help show cloud banding on Jupiter / Saturn?

Sell it on ebay as a semi-polarising monocle?

I would think it would be useful in combination with another filter, in the same way that polarised sunglasses work, they cut down glare coming at a particular angle.

I'd hang on to it, you never know when it may be useful.
