Out of the above two dew shields available at FLO, which one is best to fit on a 10" dob? Option 1 or 2?

OR is it worth just making one from black camping mat or neoprene or a similar material with velcro instead?

make one, will be the most common answer, due to saving money that you could then spend on some other piece of astro kit

DIY is the way to go... That way you can make it to suit your needs.

For best results it's a good idea to have it so that it extends beyond the 'scope by at least twice the aperture.

Maybe even a little longer opposite the focuser, to keep out stray light and improve contrast.

The advantage of using a camping mat is that you can cut it so it slides past the focuser, finderscope, RDF etc.

I made mine as you suggest using sticky backed velcro and a bungee cord to keep it in place.

Thanks, I'll probably make one out of camping mat like you guys suggest. But, if you had to buy one from FLO, that would fit my scope. Which one would you opt for?!

I'd be inclined to ask FLO for their advice. However, on their website it says ...

Note: When selecting for a Newtonian, please select the equivalent aperture SCT.
