moon tonight,, compared to 19th March

If u stick ur head out the window, low down to the East, you will see the Moon..

compared to last month when they said the moon is the closest it has been for 19 years?

Tonight it looks bigger than it did then.

Why is this?

Looks massive..

Just waiting until it rises a bit more

Its an optical illusion - the Moon always looks bigger when close to the horizon as you have familiar objects to compare it with. Try asking someone to pick up a stone and hold it at arms length in order to cover the Moon - most will pick up a golf ball size pebble when all you need is a pea sized one!
