Will give it a go in a min.
Clear skies here at moment

Hi John
Compression bands and all firm.
Will get callipers out just to make sure they are the right size.

Hi all
Have an Altair Astro 1.25 diagonal, that when clamped on any of my scopes just spins and doesn't hold.
The tubing which goes into the clamping area is quite shiny.
Wondered if I took the shine off it with some 400 grit the compression clamps would grip better?
Any else had this problem before I start sanding?

Piero.
That is an excellent chair.
Might have a go at making one over the winter.

Hi thanks it was not a zero cost it cost me £4.80 for the tee hinges and the timber for the back leg everything else from stock in my workshop
£4.80? Exorbitant. Couldn't justify that sort of expenditure. I will wait until I have enough amazon cardboard boxes to pile up and make a suitable seating arrangement

Yes it’s an f5.
This one is a possibility and is in stock.

That looks decent and I've heard of ALTAIR.
So I can use a TAK for the MAK (sorry couldn't resist)

Be aware that prism diagonals are best forblonger focal length scopes of over about f/7.5 or so. For shorter focal lengths mirror diagonals are better.
Thanks John, just starting out properly so much appreciated info and advice.
Guess the Bresser is an F5?

This one from FLO is fine. Identical to the SW version but cheaper.

Thanks John
On long delivery by the looks of it.

Yes saw that, but for another £25 can get a new TAK
Thanks for the heads up though

1.25
I know I could get a 2" for the Bresser and use a reducer, but I've got a Celestron MAK127 coming, so a 1.25" would do for both.

Hi all
Bought a 2nd hand Bresser AR127 635, and it had the 'package' diagonal with it.
Looking to buy a step up at a reasonable price.
Suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi all
Anyone know what the correct battery number is for the above?
Not just going to copy what's in as could have had a different one installed, and it doesn't say in manual.
Thanks

I'm getting it on Wednesday.
I'll do a daylight setup and first clear night I'll have a look around and report back.
Wish me luck, don't like lemons, so won't be buying one (hopefully)🍋

Thanks all.
Already can see the members on here are not pretentious academics (up to now 🤣)

Probably one of the most stupid questions ever asked to the learned on here, but does anybody cover their head like the old photographers to cut out surrounding ambient light whilst observing?

Thanks everyone for the welcome

Yes had a little laugh about it.
Just missed out on a Vixen 80M for £15.
Can't win them all
Sometimes living here is a pain, and other times paradise for buyers.

Bit dusty, you can see why they want to sell it, not used in a while 🙂
The key points to if it's worth it are the state of the glass, and the functioning of the mount. If like on my 102, the dew shield is fixed on the 127, it would be quite difficult to get an accidental fingerprint on the front of the objective, but there might have been deliberate cleaning attempts . I'd ask if it's been stored with the lens cover in place , because it is recessed into the dew shield rather than overlapping it, it's hard to tell from side on pic.s
You might ask for a head-on pic of the lens to check the state of it , but it might not be a very good photo you get back because of the dew shield shadow.
When he brings it I'll be checking it over well, any problems, no buy

It was the nosepiece.
Tightened and blob of blue loctite added.
Thanks all.
