  1. Thanks a lot everyone, I'll update you when they send me pictures of the mirrors
  2. Also, this telescope doesn't come with any eyepieces so I'll have to buy some, i don't really have a lot of money so I'm looking to just get the bare essentials for as cheap as possible right now. What should I get? I think the telescope fits 2 inch and 1.25 inch eyepieces
  3. Thank you, I decided to go with it. I'm waiting on pictures of the interior from them and if everything's fine I'll go get it
  4. Yeah, the ad said that they're selling it because they inherited it and don't know much about it so that explains the tube being the wrong way round.
  5. I'm thinking about getting a 114/900 because of the weight difference but I'm worried that I wouldn't see anything well with one
  6. I'll ask them for pictures of the internals, the telescope has no eyepieces included unfortunately. My main concern is that I live in an apartment and would need to take the telescope to a nearby park or something like that. Would that be feasible with such a heavy mount?
  7. I also found this one https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/teleskop-celestron-omni-xlt-150-dia-150mm-fl-750mm-gebraucht/2575443916-242-2048?utm_source=sharesheet&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_android it's celestron so that might be something
  8. Hey, I'm looking to get a telescope. I'm a student so my budget is pretty limited, 150 euros max. I looked for something used and I've found a few options but I don't know which is better. I'm mainly interested in lunar and planetary viewing, nebulae would be nice but not the priority. First there's one that's 150/1400 https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/leistungsstarkes-teleskop-150-1400-/2570389530-242-1158?utm_source=sharesheet&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_android there's another one that's 114/900 https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/bresser-reflektor-teleskop-galaxia-s/2592898602-242-1656?utm_source=sharesheet&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_android and the third one is 150/750 https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/omegon-teleskop-newton-reflektor-150-750-eq-3/2584119227-242-4944?utm_source=sharesheet&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_android I'm not familiar with any of those brands so I don't know if there's something I should watch out for or anything. Appreciate all advice, thank you.
  9. Thanks a lot, appreciate it.
  10. Thanks a lot for the help but i meant the ones at the bottom of the mount, the ones that rotate the scope side to side.
  11. Hey everyone, I'm planning on building a dob and I have a list of all the materials I need except for the bearings to rotate the telescope horizontally, what should I use? Thanks in advance.
  12. As far as I know, there aren't that many equatorial mounts here, and I've never seen a dob. All of them are alt az. I will be building a dob though because it's easier, later on, I want to find a way ro build a go to mount but I don't know how realistic that is.
  13. 😂😂😂😂😂, It's really a pain but I think I have a plan that might work. I'll post it here when I do. Thanks a lot.
  14. Thanks a lot for telling me this, I might've went with a spherical one otherwise, he told me that he has 7 inch parabolic mirrors coming soon so I'll wait for those.
  15. Yeah it probably wasn't set up well. I do want to get into astrophotography later on, just waiting to see if I can actually build the scope though. Thank you.
  16. There are a few binoculars but I live in Cairo, so the light pollution here is terrible. I can barely make out 10 stars, so trying to find deep sku objects more difficult. I do think I might get a pair at some point though, but for regular use it has to be a telescope
  17. probably a bit of both. I'll definitely post later. Thank you.
  18. Thanks a lot, I think I'll just build one, this video is a life saver. Appreciate the effort.
  19. I also just checked the video here, this telescope costs almost 10k, meaning I either buy the 152mm or build a 160mm one. What do you all think? is it worth it? I really appreciate the effort you are all putting in. Edit: I used to have a 152-750 but I saw no detail at all, I never collimated it because I didn't know how at the time and the seller is in another city so I sold it. Does not collimating it cause such loss of detail? That experience is why I'm considering building one instead.
  20. Yeah that's the problem, the only seller with any permission to build, import and sell telescopes is this company, and even they struggle with importing the lenses and mirrors
  21. I'm not really skilled but I have a friend who does a bit of blacksmithing and wood projects so I'll rely on him and his tools. I'm not sure about the collimation though. do you think the size difference is worth it? I'll try to ask the poster and see what he knows about the manufacturer. Thanks a lot.
  22. Yeah, I know people who got one for their university's astronomy club, it was an 8 inch celestron mak, at the time it cost 8000 pounds, they got it in for 30k. Thanks a lot though, I really appreciate the effort
