  1. There is 3 screws afaik and a strap that protects it from falling out. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/749709-explore-scientific-16-truss-tube-dob-gen-ii-my-experience/ I also think about adding large PC fan in the rockerbox, but it would be far from mirror so not sure it would help? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Noctua-redux-1700-Performance-Cooling-1700RPM/dp/B07CG2PGY6/ref=sr_1_10?crid=2HQ6HZ4R290UJ&keywords=large+pc+fan&qid=1696022724&sprefix=large+pc+fan%2Caps%2C81&sr=8-10
  2. Also I was told somewhere that with Cheshire you don't go for aligning the crosshair with spider vanes but isn't it what they are doing here?
  3. I'm confused as to what should I use to collimate my scope in the easiest way, there is multiple tools. I need to be able to do it quickly and in dark setting if possible. Maybe I should invest more and get that auto collimator that you connect to a laptop?
  4. Overall what I need now the most is for someone to help me remove both mirrors safely and wash them. I can manage secondary but I'm afraid to touch primary.
  5. I'm confused since last reply from you seems to be from Monday 10.55, and then I replied with a list of things I would like to change/fix same day at 22.16. Perhaps you haven't seen my latest reply?
  6. Thanks but the issue is being able to remove the primary and assemble it back safely. I've seen some guides on cleaning already. I'm trying to collimate with a cheshire with a crosshair but this scope has different kind of spiders so I can't really align it with the crosshair.
  7. Astrobits didn't reply to my last message sent 2 or 3 days ago. John decided to back off... So I'am still looking for someone to help me clean mirrors and collimate, that's all. I'm living in Weston super Mare. Can take the scope to you or invite if someone can help.
  8. Anyway still looking for help. For now only need help with cleaning both mirrors.
  9. Hi, I have a 16” Explore Scientific scope and I live near Bristol. I need some help with scope losing collimation and things like perhaps cleaning the mirror etc. I wonder if there is any companies or people who deal with this stuff up to 3 hours away from Bristol? I am afraid of doing this stuff by myself. Perhaps someone could help me with this ofc not for free. Cheers!
  10. Hi, I already have a translucent diffuser cap for Samyang 135mm, but i also need cheap portable light source for it for taking flat frames. I've used iPad a couple of times but i have dropped it recently and made a dent, so I'm afraid to use it again 😅. Also would be cool if i could easily power it up with a power bank. Any recommendations ?
  11. I think this sounds like a good idea. I would like to connect my Sony A6400 camera to this scope, so i came up with this kind of setup: https://www.firstlightoptics.com/bresser-telescopes/bresser-messier-8-dobsonian-telescope.html https://www.firstlightoptics.com/barlow-eyepieces/tv_pmt_2.5x_1.25in.html (2.5x / 1.25" option ?) [or should i go for Barlow 2x ?] https://www.firstlightoptics.com/bst-starguider-eyepieces/bst-starguider-60-8mm-ed-eyepiece.html (This will give me high magnification right ? ) https://www.firstlightoptics.com/other-collimation-tools/stellalyra-premium-cheshire-collimating-eyepiece.html https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapters/ae_t-ring_nex.html (Sony E mount) https://www.firstlightoptics.com/astro-essentials/astro-essentials-1-25-inch-t-mount-camera-nosepiece-adapter.html (From what i understand i won't need this if i go with the Barlow x2 ? ) Also do you connect camera straight to Barlow/Powermate or Eye piece ? No idea how it works. Thanks everyone!
  12. I understand that, but i can't spend more than 1k £ on my setup right now. 🙁
  13. I don't want to use it for DSO AP, i want to use it for visual + VIDEO recording of planets, so then i can process them on a computer. I know that taking long exposures on Dobsonian is a bad idea.
  14. But refractor with go to will be much more than 1k right ?
  15. Thanks everyone. Someone mentioned i would need a "go to" for planets. What other scope with go to would you recommend ? I don't want to spend more than 1k £ for whole setup.
  16. I prefer Sky Safari on Mac, thanks for the tip though 🙂.
  17. Hi, I'm planning to buy the Sky-Watcher Classic 200P, this will be my first telescope, and I would need some advice on to what additional parts should i buy. My camera is Sony A6400, i would like to record videos of the Moon and other planets with high magnification. I suppose I would need Barlow x2 ? https://www.firstlightoptics.com/barlow-eyepieces/astro-essentials-125-2x-barlow-with-t-thread.html Do i need to buy any eye pieces ? What eye pieces would be best for recording planets ? How do i mount my camera ? For collimation are these 2 things good ?: https://www.firstlightoptics.com/other-collimation-tools/stellalyra-premium-cheshire-collimating-eyepiece.html https://www.firstlightoptics.com/other-collimation-tools/rigel-aline-collimation-cap.html Also how do i record Sun, do you need some kind of filters ? , and will i be able to spot dark spots easily with this scope ? Thank you!
