  1. wo gt71, 0.8 reducer flattener, altair quadband filter. only about an hour of data. so far. reprocessed several times and again colours may be over done but the mrs liked the colours so here it is. thank you
  2. sorry to ask. but as im also still learning how to post here. how do you get your images to just show up on your post?. mine looks like it has to be downloaded. thanks in advance
  3. rosette with new wo gt71, .8 reducer/flattener, altair quadband filter with about 3hrs of data and probably my first image im actually proud of. reprocessed from original and still very much learning but ,wow the difference you can get from just spending more time processing. i may have overdone the colours, but i like it. thank you
  4. Great build. I don't suppose you have a list of the parts and wouldn't mind posting them please? I've been thinking of building a power tank but a bit lost on what parts to buy. Thank you
  5. az gti all the way. whole reason i started this hobby. i was looking at sky guider . but the goto of the az gti is worth it alone
  6. will test this when weather clears. great little mount that really got me into astrophotography. was thinking of selling this too. but will try with my samyang 135 f2 when i get the chance. thank you
  7. good random thoughts. thank you. dont know why i didnt think to measure canter of gravity off the mount. i did think of offsetting the weight of the guide scope. i have a 300mm bar with guide scope side as close to main scope as possible with my rasberry pi mounted as far other side but the pi weighs nothing really. thank you agin
  8. and just a thought. if it does turn out to be balance when i finally manage to image again (im pretty handy with the avx's internals by now after stripping it down and adjusting it a few times so pretty sure backlash wont be an issue now) does anyone think that moving the guide scope further back. more central with the mount clamp will help? only thinking this as on my last scope i moved the guide scope to the side of the main scope. but was mounted directly to the main scope pretty much center of mount clamp. or am i just over thinking this and it was backlash all the while.. hmmm damn weather lol
  9. oh and sorry. the reason i dont mount the guide scope on top is i dont have a garden or any outside area to image from.so when i cant get out i have to use the skylight in loft and i am limited with movement and the guide scope will hit the widow. i can only get about 25 degrees of altitude imaging from skylight (starting from 20 degrees to 45 degrees). so need the guide scope as low as possible also have had a few collisions with window which is why i wasnt sure if it was balnce or backlash in mount , which i have just adjusted out but yet to test with weather here at the minute. thank you
  10. im pretty sure i have the rig balanced overall in RA and as good as you can judge the stiff dec axis on the avx. its just the guide scope being mounted to the side is my worry. with a stiff dec axis its hard to judge if the balance will be guide scope side heavy.
  11. I should have said the reason I ask is I have only had the scope a short time and the limited imaging I've had with this scope ive been struggling with guiding. So could it be balance or my mount?
  12. Hi all. Due to viewing restrictions I need to mount my guide scope to the side. Will this setup unbalance my rig while imaging? Thanks inadvance
  13. as many others my first was m42. taken only last year and still very much learning Autosave-Edit.tif
  14. perfect. thank you both. you are an arcturus 😉 🌟
  15. Thank you for reply. I use deep sky stacker on pc. Can you associate different night photos on dss? (On way to look into it now). I do generally try to keep my equipment dust free but of the 3 nights I've managed to get photos I noticed the second nights flat frames had noticeable dust motes. Thank you again
  16. Hi all. As title can you stack allready stacked photos. Story goes, as I don't have a garden and don't get out much for long sessions at night due to work the next day, I have to make the most of any clear skies we have, I shoot from my skylite so I dismantle my scope after every shoot. So after every session I take my calibration frames then stack them. If by chance the following night is clear I repeat the process. So my question is if I shoot the same target can I stack my allready stacked frames? Or should I just stack all the raw files together? Will the flat frames be useless for stacking all the raw files together as I've dismantled my scope after every session? Sorry to go on. And thank you advance for any advice
