  1. Hi. Can you explain how you removed the mirror from the cell? My TAL-1 mirror cell has a black Loctite-type gunk that makes unscrewing the mirror holder thing hard. I need to soften this somehow. Acetone, perhaps? Please advise.
  2. I have a TAL 1 with a camera mount that winds onto the EQ counterweight shaft. What are people's experiences using the camera mount? I look forward to your advice.
  3. I have a TAL 1 circa 1992. TAL is not common in Australia. The secondhand market is non-existent, unlike the UK. One local importer has a couple of motorised TAL equatorial mounts for sale. He is asking $150 + shipping, which seems reasonable (including the pedestal). Is it worth upgrading my TAL 1 to have a motorised EQ mount? I have read mixed reviews about the reliability of the motors. Apparently, they can track with a reasonable degree of precision for an hour. I look forward to some feedback. Thanks in advance.
