True! I'm thinking in a "dobsonization".
Thank you @Ags

I use both imaging and guiding cams in USB 2 ports with no issues. Unless you need a high data transfer rate (video for planetary), it should work.

In order:
- Non flat images
- Weather
- Light pollution in all its forms (satellite trails included)
- Work (night shifts)
Number one annoys me the most by far. The others simply can't be avoided.

??? My guide cam doesn't have a separate power cable.
The only cable. Your imaging cam is a two-port USB hub.

Since fitting the Telrad finder, I had a lot of trouble

Why would you need a finder having the capability to plate solve? Moreover, if it hampers the balance…. (I’d just get rid of it).- 2

Because of this and lack of encoders
I thought encoders have nothing to do with PPEC storage.
Please correct me if I’m wrong but the EQ6-R Pro has no encoders and stores the PPEC curve. I believe it is able to reproduce the curve regardless if it was previously parked. -
Mount. A sturdy one that might permit you to evolve in your AP journey.
BTW, budget?- 1

Hi and welcome to SGL.

Definitely the EQ3 is not going to be enough for your setup. EQ5 or above.

The ASI294MC plus the 0.85 FR/FF would be around £1.210. Not much left for a filter.
