  2. Messier 101, is known as the Pinwheel galaxy, located in the constellation Ursa Major at a distance of 25 million light-years away. According to NASA, Messier 101 is 170,000 light-years across, nearly twice the diameter of our own Milky Way galaxy!

The image was captured using only LRG filters, the color is nowhere close to the true color. As usual, the clouds rolled in with a threat of rain, so I packed up the optical gear.

  9. The Knife Edge Galaxy or Splinter Galaxy is also designated NGC 5907. Home of the record-breaking pulsar, NGC 5907 X-1, in the year 2017. The pulsar's rotation period of 1.13 seconds, was determined by ESA's XMM-Newtown's European Photon Imaging camera.

The Splinter Galaxy, according to NASA had a satellite galaxy that was gradually torn apart and merged with NGC 5907 over four billion years ago. NGC lies about 40 million light-years away in the constellation Draco.

  13. Captured the galaxy NGC 6045, part of the Adel 2151 over two nights. In Bortle 7 skies, I struggled with removing the light pollution, while trying to keep the image intact. Back to the drawing board.

By the way, NGC 6045 has a distance of 450 million light-years away.
