  1. I'm preparing to have this surgery and I am trying to decide between a "premium" lens that promises to be multifocal and end the need for eye glasses, and a fixed focal length lens with which reading glasses would be necessary for near vision. I have read that the "premium" lenses may cause starburst effects at night on such things as the headlights of oncoming automobiles. I realize that this is a relatively old thread but I'm wondering if any of you would care to share any experiences you may have had with this.
