  1. Thank you for the suggestions, Not in stock with FLO but have seen it available at Harrison Telescopes.
  2. Hello, currently I have a 127 MAK that I use on my Nexstar Evolution mount. For visual I have a good selection of high quality eye pieces. However I want to start taking decent images using my Canon D450, have used my MAK but it has its limits. So with a budget of £500 I want to purchase a Refractor that I can mount on the evolution with wedge. Any suggestion welcome either used or new. Many Thanks.
  3. All sorted. Changed to usb cable and re up loaded firmware. Just been out and two star alignment spot on 😁
  4. Help needed before I throw it in the bin! I updated the firmware on my 2018 Nexstar Evolution mount as there was a Wi-fi update as one of the 11 updates for the mc and hc. All updated perfectly with cfm. So now I have spent the last three nights trying to align using all the various methods etc and every time I get failed. This includes using hc and Sky portal. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and has anyone tried to roll back the firmware. Note I don’t have starsense or GPS module.
  5. Well I thought I would offer my experience. As an avid amateur astronomer I have never really used binoculars, that is until the arrival, today, of a pair of Celestron Skymaster 12x60’s. where have I been! A quick break in the clouds this evening, grabbed the bins bolted to a spare monopod and voila an amazing FOV, the night sky lit up with clusters in clear view. I even made sight of Andromeda, faint but all there. Just out of interest a lot of reviews state they often arrive needing collimating. They worked perfectly out of the box 👍very happy.
  6. I’ve moved this topic to “getting started, equipment” my mistake putting it in the wrong forum. Thanks.
  7. I think I put this question in the wrong forum originally. Ok so here’s the dilemma. My 127 mak goto is on the patio, all set up with Wi-fi link to iPad for control etc. So currently I can sit in my garden office and move the telescope to where I want, go to the scope and view. Very handy as cold nights at the moment. Now, what I want to do is attach a live view camera to the scope and connect to my MacBook in the office, thus giving me live viewing etc. can someone please recommend the best solution based on the above, which hopefully makes sense. Thanks in advance.

  10. Evening all, I want to get a sturdier tripod for my 127 SLT. Can anyone offer recommendations that will let me just drop the Goto mount onto please. Thanks.
  11. Trawling some astronomer sites I subscribe to on You Tube and came across this. I want this but I don’t think my wife would !!!
  12. Hello from a very cloudy and wet South of the Uk. Thanks for the reply and images. Love your setup and really interesting point on the 2” diagonal. I will be moving up to a Celestron 8se hopefully and would be keen to go the way you have. 👍
  13. Forgot to mention I ditched the 9mm that came with the set up but do use the 25mm.
  14. Hi Faulksy, I’ve got a 127 nexstar slt but looking to move up to 8se soon. Current eyepieces including new just ordered :- Skywatcher Planetary UWA 58 degree 9mm Baader Hyperion 68 degree 10mm OVL Nirvana ES UWA 82 degree 16mm Stellalyra Superview 68 degree 20mm. New range at FLO Antares Plossl 52 degree 32 mm I’ve only been doing astronomy since April but totally addicted. Is this a good selection that will cover me in most situations thanks
  15. Evening all. Quick question. I have just ordered a couple of new eyepieces including a Baader Hyperion 68 Degree 10mm. I already have a Skywatcher Planetary UWA 58° 9mm, so question is do I need both? Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks Supernova. Actually I the garden as I write this having a bit of a practice, in between the clouds 🤬
  17. So, looking forward to the event but just need some imaging advice. I have a Celestron 127 Nexstar SLT and a Canon 450d with relevant adaptors for scope. Firstly is it best to have the camera on the diagonal or remove diagonal and attach camera direct to scope ? Any advice helpful please. Thanks.
  18. Steve, absolutely perfect and appreciate the link. Just what I was looking for and much cheaper than a Pelican Case 👍
  19. Evening all, just been browsing the internet for padded cases for my set up and wondered if any body else out there had made their own case and foam liner. Looking for ideas as a Pelican case is too costly for me at the moment. Thanks in advance.
  20. Hi all, I want to use my Celestron nexstar 127 SLT mount for my DSLR. Not looking to piggyback but remove OTA and mount camera on the dovetail. Can anyone tell me if there’s a purpose built mount for the dovetail. Thanks in advance.
  21. Hello all, I’m having a brain fade 😱can some please tell me how to or covert my lat and long, see attached image, correctly into my nexstar + handset. Sorry if this sounds like I’m been stupid. Bought the Celestron 127 nexstar SLT and want to get accurate location. Thanks in advance.
  22. Happy Kat, Thanks for the link to the peanut butter focuser !!!
  23. Thanks Globular, that’s a brilliant idea on the focus Knob. I am now hunting out cable ties in the garage 👍
