If you held the camera and pressed the button it is your work
Wasn't that what they said about the monkey selfie?

Thanks Huw
Unfortunately it isn't Windows 7 compatible.
Yes it is, but it must be 64 bit pro version

For me it would have to be Avid media composer, they now do a free version:

Hi Gina, is this the type of lens you are using?

Of course, it isn't all about astronomy - even Les Granges has to accept daytime hours
Yes, it's been two years since my visit, the skies may be awesome, but the daytime views do not lack appeal, here's the view from our bedroom:-
I doubt anybody can fault that view...

Mine is finally on order with FLO now they have stock again, gone for the astro photo bundle. Looking forwards to it, but I apologise for any cloud it produces

If I use three sections for the roof - one fixed and two moving the sealing is sorted out. Each section is a little over 90°
That's the one, now could you print one of about 2.5 meters for my obsy?

second vote for forward metals, very civilised people to deal with

Can i please make a suggestion, and I'm fully prepared to be shot down in flames. Since you have started considering something along the lines of the skypod, why not a clamshell?
Since you are looking at two foot dia, you would get away with three sections not the four in the photo. All three of slightly different dia, so they slide into each other, and then if they all open in the one direction, there's no difficult vertical seal at the top.
How are your fibreglass skills Gina?

The design above is flawed - there would be an upward force on the lower bearing and thus the plate attached to it. The front plate needs to be attached as far up as possible to reduce stresses and could be vertical. 200mm is not long enough so if I don't find something suitable I'll buy it.
Have a look at the picture of my mount above, the bottom end of the polar axis plate is fixed to the base with a dirty great big hinge, I'm taking no credit for that, it started life as a Beacon Hill mount.

It seems that the amount of light transmitted has little to do with the quoted focal ratio.
That was why T numbers were used instead of F numbers by some people in the film industry, it measured the lens transmission, not theoretical geometry, I assume the Fuji zoom if very lossy compared to the prime fisheye

Mike's point of sensitivity is interesting, I was amazed at the lack of noise, but the detail is also amazing compared to my Fuji zoom lens on the QHY. Am I right that you used to use the same zoom as me on a previous incarnation of ASC?
How much of the difference in light gathering is down to light loss in the optics I wonder?

There is something wrong with the RPi control of both dew heaters and cooling - neither are working. Just something not connected I would think. The camera is running at +12C with an ambient of about -2C
Hang on, are these images taken with an UNCOOLED camera, I'm speechless, they are so clean, my ASC using a QHY 5II are so much more noisy it's not true.
Oh no, do I have to go spending again...

This lens looks seriously sharp and fast, how do you think it compares to the old Fuji zoom lens?

Well, I've finally settles on a PA hardware setup fro my AZ EQ 6. It's a ZWO ASI 120MC, with a Nikon E series 50mm f1.8:
I've made an adaptor out of a waste pipe stop end that fits in the polar finder hole of the mount, and the camera screws onto it nice and firm.
With one second exposures I can get a solve in no time at all, and regularly get well under an arc minute, with the resulting PHD trace speaking for itself:
Hats off to Robin

I think it's more about focusing on something you're enjoying. If something is making progress and you're getting enjoyment out of it, there is no harm in parking other projects for another day!
Couldn't agree more, I too seem to have more ongoing projects that I want to get on with than time in the day. And clients are so demanding, they insist on offering you paying work when there's much more enjoyable stuff to be worked on

What did the postman bring?

Just arrived, it's not an eyepiece, but just as useful for an imager who likes the warm, a drum of Steel wire armoured Cat5, to replace the ethernet over mains that's just failed (for the second time) in the obsy
