  1. Hi Oymd, Sorry for the lateness in replying.. Firstly, here is the guide I used : http://www.alexastro.com/Alex Home Page/Articles/Articlesindex.html Its the article "A loaf of bread, jug of milk...." M3: 15 x 60s 13 x 90s 2 x 120s 8 x 300s Guiding using PHD2 and a ASI 120 Clear Skies Mike
  2. Evening all, Im still learning, started in Jan 2020 and typical with UK weather, the last few days have been clear enough for me to burn some candles. So, my kit: Evostar 80ED Ds-pro, EQ6R, ASI533, Optolong L pro filter and Senso Sesto 2 focuser. I run this from a Dell 3070 micro running CCDCiel, Carter’s du field and PHD2. Here are my images from this week: M3, Atlas and M47. I’ve spent today trying to learn PixInsight - these are the results from 4 hrs playing. A big thank you to AlexAstro, with out his document I would be still seeing b&w images. As a note, M3 & M47 contains darks and bias, no flats as they totally messed the colour. Atlas is a single 120second image. I hope you enjoy my excitement with my journey start...
  3. Thanks, just need some clear nights to give it another try. So much to try and learn about this hobby ... in a few hrs of cloud free nights.
  4. There’s the problem and the reason I asked. I couldn’t see how to get the camera connected to the scope without the 2” (70mm length) adapter.
  5. Hello, I've just the ASI533 camera (previous was a Canon DSLR) and want to know how best to connect it to the ED80. I have it currently connected to the camera via the 2" focus extension T adapter, however I suspect this might be not the best option as the ZWO site talks about backfocus of 55mm - Does this apply although I dont have a reducer?? Any help would be appreciated for a newbie.
  6. Hello, UK based. I have just received my EQ6R mount, (no tube yet - just a Canon 70D), first outing - could find a thing, roughly polar aligned (as at first I couldnt see a thing through the polar scope - until I released the balance rod). So, tried a 1 star alignment, miles out - and I mean miles......so gave up and decided to RTFM during daylight. so , today, setup in the office, polar aligned (roughly - just pointing in the general North direction ) and used a star app to see if the scope was anywhere near the star - nope. Then , I noticed a minor "quirk". The hand controller was asking for mm/dd/yyyy, so I have been entering 04/01/2020 - which was according to the scope 1st April 2020.... Question : How can I change the date format from mm/dd/yyyy to the UK based format..... Secondly, I was struggling to see through the polar scope (old age and dry rot), are there any addons that will help?? Thanks Mike
