  1. I have find this chat very interesting. I am very new to Astro photography (becoming addicted) and quite old to photography in general. In fact i love photography and sometimes i teach photography since i am qualified photographer, but is just a hobbie for me. So far I was using my full frame Sony a7iii on my SW 120ED with reducer @750mm on an HEQ5 mount. I have just bought the new 183mc pro cooled but not the Tec version. In fact i thought that pro cooled is same like Zwo 183c pro (my mistake). I live in Cyprus and weather is really hot in summer so my experience is just a simple comparison between my Sony and Altair 183mc. Sony is amazing camera and can deliver great Dynamic Range at high iso. However it can not compete Altair 183mc astro I have attached a single shot (my first click with this camera on M42 target. I know is not good at all, core is over exposed and certainly details are missing. But this shot is a 70 sec only, no noise was reduced just streched a bit the colors. Good or bad is very relative, but I can say for sure that i can extract much more detail from shorter exposures comparing with Sony always. If i will do my dark frames i believe noise will be controlled at a very good level. Camera was operating at 14c and not -30 as it could do with TEC version. Last night it was around 11oC. I can't say how it will react on +30 at night is summer. I have used Optlong LII-pro filter. You can't compare this camera with any DSRL/mirorless camera for three major reasons. 1. Astro cam has no IR filters like common camera do for white balance 2. Even a simple cooling fan can do much better job than a non cooled sensor 3. You can produce more details in much shorter exposures https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkngeDidmR72hpxwjayR1SOKa7yyOA?e=XgVUs0 This is just my view from practical experience. Let me have your comments.
