  1. Managed a quick smash and grab session for 20mins between clouds on Jupiter and the Moon with my grab n'go Porta mount and ST120 frac. Seeing was poor on Jupiter, but not too bad on the moon. :)

  2. Nice wee session with my goto. Nice to see Saturn & 4 of its moons.  Also, nice to see the dumbbell nebula once again, even in the poor sky conditions.

  3. Lunar V is starting to show, well before the X which should start approx 10:36p'm UK time.

  4. Lunar X coming up around 10:36pm UK tonight, so fingers crossed for my first viewing. May also see the V too, so here's hoping! ????

  5. Got a brief outing on Thursday night with the new C8 SCT. Collimation was slightly out (sorted now hopefully). With DSO's however I managed to easily pick out some galaxies that I'd not seen before, so very happy with that even with the LP where I live! :)

  6. Managed to catch a break in the clouds and see Vesta again. Nicely viewed with the help of Skysafari. Forcast pretty dire for the week ahead so may be the last time for a few days to track it again!

  7. Nice couple of hours observing. Managed to track Vesta down once again. Now warming up with a cup of tea as it is pretty chilly out there! :)

  8. Looks like some clear nights ahead for the next three nights, at least that's what's forcast for where I live anyway. Fingers crossed! :)

  9. I'm loving tracking Vesta through Gemini. 4 nights out of 5 tracking it is pretty good, especially with the lousy weather here lately! Managed just to see 41P too with averted vision just! :)

  10. My Astro mojo is on a high lately. Even cloudy weather is not damping it down! Hehe! ???

  11. Third night in a row I've been able to track Vesta. Pretty good going for the UK I think! Vesta's movement over these three nights has been easily observed. Will post more sketches soon of its path. ?

  12. Just managed to catch 5 minutes of observing the shadow of Io on Jupiter before clouds fully rolled in. Also managed to see a nice bright green meteor though also at 22:56, which must have been bright as I saw it through thin cloud/haze in the direction of Leo. :)

  13. Can't wait to test out my 6/8 SE Goto mount when I get back home, so hoping for some clear skies for Friday night and the weekend! Fingers crossed! :)

  14. Yet more damn clouds! When's that Zarkov cloud buster gun going to arrive from FLO? Sheesh! I ordered it 10 days ago! Need to blast those pesky clouds away! ;)

  15. Was lazy last night before diner was ready (had limited time too) and viewed Venus through the double glazing in the dining room. Got a pretty good view too, and much warmer than outside! Hehe! ;)

  16. Good to get out again after a cold. Saw Tegmine & Eskimo nebula, among other targets in Auriga & Gemini. Nice session if chilly still! :)

  17. Lunt wedge & an az4 mount nabbed off Shane & Jules for a late Christmas prezzy to oneself! Hehe! ;)

  18. Chilly night out there, but through intermittent clouds M42, M81 & M82 were very nice. Even nabbed the Eskimo nebula in Gemini despite the moon nearby. Now time to warm up & get some sleep! :)

  19. Had a quick look through the new Televue 10mm Delos I got off Marki last night. Even with the moon out and  clouds too it looks looks it will give great views! :)

  20. Another fun night with the Goto mount, with my Starwave 102mm f11 'frac attached for some great views! :)

  21. Just had so much fun outside observing, anyone would think I'm not at work in the morning! Yikes! ;)

  22. Oh oh! Gone and done it again! Buying another EP for my collection! Hehe! ?

  23. I think the sun is playing hide and seek! Trouble is I just can't find it? Grrrrrr..........

  24. Looks like Saturday evening/night might be clear to do some observations of the heavens. Fingers crossed I can test out my new EP! :)

  25. Crikes! I just saw the moon! ;)
