  7. > most galaxies are of about the same surface brightness as the Milky Way. So if you want to see galaxies well, you need to be able to see the Milky Way with the naked eye. That comment has saved me an awful lot of chasing my own tail!
  8. This is genuinely helpful. But... If it was easy, I wouldn't be interested! Anyone can browse hubble photos on the Nasa website. If I can get a view of Uranus as a small, blue-green bead I will be delighted. Neil
