Mercury Transit with 140 children!
Images added to a gallery album owned by Planet X in Member's Album
I took my CPC 1100 into my local village school, and with the help of my daughter we managed to get every single child (140 of them!) a glimpse of our star and tiny Mercury. Here are our first ever solar images. -
Probably our best image so far, a little bit of surface detail visible.

Elclipse with the same £25 compact camera
Images added to a gallery album owned by Planet X in Member's Album
I took these using the same method as my Moon album, just held the Panasonic Lumix as steady as possible to the 40mm eypiece which came with my CPC800. Also including a pic of Jupiter which i am thrilled about. -

Very pleased with my first attempt at planetary photography. I know its not the best photo but it goes to show that a dirt cheap secondhand compact can take an image of a planet. Also in the pic from left to right is Callisto, Europa and Io. the Great Red spot is just visible as a feint smudge. The image, whilst being tracked on my CPC 800 was moving all over the place on the camera display due to my hand movements so i was fortunate to get this shot.© Carl Gallagher

Taken using my cheap compact camera held up to the 40mm eyepiece of my CPC 800. I used glass white light Solar filters on both the finder and main scope and also used a very steady hand!© Carl Gallagher

Selection of pics taken with a secondhand Panasonic Lumix compact camera i picked up on Ebay for £25. I simply held it to the 40mm eyepiece of my CPC 800.
