Hi

Hi
extra star spikes you show going round in a circle are normally caused by a bright star bouncing off the edge off your secondary so black these up inc the small ground edge if you have one ( I suspect you have )
The extra spike is caused by the veins not being parallel to each other , do have to be straiht in line but parallel so put a straight edge down each vein and check the opposite is completely parallel
with it .
this should remove your extra spike

Hi
I have a mesu and there is a bug in the sitech controller , in which when I first connect it decides to slew off wildly for no reason
does drive me potty and only does this once in a while , the sitec controller is good but also is buggy
sometimes after stopping tracking , I can not get it to start again without a reboot of the controller !!!!!
I must try and find out why it does this but have found its difficult to get these bugs resolved
anyway enough off my winge , anybody else have these

Hi
I have got one of these and just a small note the Vixen bar on the bottom is not , its several mm to small
and a vixen clamp will not grip it , do find it strange why a silly mistake like this is made
Might save you buying a vixen clamp like me ?
Cheers

Hi
I see the pro version offers 2 camera use , but I presume this means 1 for capture and 1 for guiding ? as most people do not have unguidable mounts

Hi
I have downloaded the trial and will give it a go
At the moment I am a SGP user which is very capable product , but for me does suffer from stability problems
do you support most cameras direct ( no ascom ) as this seems to be a weak point in sgp
and I know you will say its prisim is stable , but this is of a major concern to users like me - crashes hurt a lot !!!
Regards

BTW as noted before you should let people know how big the download file is

Hi Harry - love your pier!- not sure it would fit in my observatory though as too small but a great idea - how did you source it? - best wishes Tony
Hi
Sorry for slow reply
The pier is a bit of DIY , made it up as I went along -- what I do most of the time as I am not bright enough
to work it out before

Congratulations Harry. I found that setting the encoders to ignore worked best for me.

Hi
Yes I seem to get on better with ignor !
seemed a shame not to use them though

Hi
well This is probaley the worst image I have posted for a long time , tilted focal plane . tak not collimated well , spacing from reducer wrong
only 3 10min Ha subs next to 3/4 moon before the clouds rolled in
BUT I got the mesu going SGP talked to the mount and PHD did the guiding ok
A few little niggles left , mainley being using the mesu with the encoders connected did not work well -- seemed to be slewing forever and seemed to be bouncing back and forth around the target
even in polite mode , so I switched them off all went well ( sgp sent the mesu to 1 pix precision )
More practice required

Hi
well it 3 things really
1) I wanted to make use of my existing conc base ( There is over a ton in there !)
2) I want to flip as little as possible and this give me more options
3) I like to make things difficult for myself

I have just got a mount hub pro and intending using it on my Mesu which is due in March, and I'm pretty impressed with it thus far. You can power up to 15A on 12 ports, 4 of which are permanently on and 8 switchable using the supplied software. It certainly seems to provide a very tidy solution to a lot of cabling. It's also handy having the 4 port due controller built in as well, which again is fully controllable in software, and with the manual dials.
Congrats on what would appear to be mini-mount compared to what you're used to.
Hi
I have a mount hub pro ( Ver 1 ) and are very happy with it , I was hopeing it would run the mesu
When I get set up I will give it a go

Hello Harry,
Congratulations on your new mount. I've had mine since June last year and its been great.
I use a 12volt 5amp power brick to power it, seems to do the job just fine.
Cheers, Ian
Hi
Cheers for the info
The std cables I see with the correct plug on the end seem a bit weedy did you make your own

I also received mine yesterday. I am going to do a thread as to how I do the metalwork to mount it with the MESU Supplied plate.
Can't believe how heavy it is!
@harry page Bern drove the short distance up to Nottingham after dropping yours off in Stamford. Not really had chance to do much with it yet - the metalwork starts tomorrow
Hi
I will be at the bathroom for another few weeks ( Full refit ) so I will be watching with interest

Once you get used to how 'small' it is (Just how BIG was your last mount, Harry?) I am sure you will love it. Have you tried reading the Mesu specific manual that I have produced for the mount to save you reading through the 236 pages of the SiTech manual? Just a thought!
Hi
Her is a pic Little monster ver The beast
And yes many thanks for your short manual been a great help ( Even though I have read Sitech ona as well , because I am mad )
Just a note for things that did not work for me
The ascom link for the Sitechexe 0.90p did not install the ascom driver for me , but then downloaded the 0.91T version and this worked fine
When configuring Sitechexe and I had the mount conected I could not select the correct COM port ( Did not show at all ) so disconected mount restarted
Sitechexe and was able to select the right com port ( 3 in my case ) and then all was well
It might be just my set up ( windows 10 dell laptop )
Again many thaks for yout hard work
Regards

Voyager Software Review
in Discussions - Software
Posted
Hi
Yes I too was looking for automation capture software , even though as much I like SGP reliability has become a problem to me with crashes and how it handles them
I too found voyager ( https://www.voyagerastro.com/ ) and like all new software a little learning is required but the basic were not too hard ( still more to learn ) , but the stability is no 1 concern to the
author ( Leo ) and if there is a hard ware failure ( or driver ) it can be set up to notify you ( text email ) , the software is devolving rapidly and the author gives great back up and considers new ideas
and requests almost daily - new beta appear every few weeks.
At the moment dual cameras are a suggestion that are under consideration ( no beta yet ) something that I know would interest a lot off people
def worth a look for the current price of 69 euros and I encourage you to look soon as the price is going up to 129 euros in a few weeks time ( still cheap ) and there is a 45 day free trial to get you
going
Cheers
Harry
