  1. Just done it, easy when you know how. Pity they didn't put captive nuts on the inside. Maybe there's a good reason for not doing it. Whew!! Panic over. Cheers Brian
  2. Thanks for that. Will take it off now! Brian
  3. I have got myself in a bit of a mess. I was trying to mount my starwatcher startravel 102 on a Vixen Porta II. I found that my scope dovetail is upside down (the dimples for the screws are in wrong place). Anyway, I tried to unscrew the dovetail and then turn it around. Unfortunately the two screws just keep turning and will not come out. I assumed that there would be a locking nut on the inside of the tube, seems not to be the case. I am now at a loss as to what to do, the screws will not tighten back up either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brian
  4. Thanks for your reply. Zoomed in quite a bit a lo and behold! it worked. Thanks again Brian
  5. Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is Cartes Du Ciel. I did what you suggested and still get HD numbers. At a loss as to what to do. I had this software a few years ago and don't remember having this problem.
  6. I have looked at a previous answer for this topic, i.e. Setup > Display > Labels > Common Name but still only get the number of a star. I really need the common names to be shown. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? It is the latest version of Skychart. P.S. It has been a while since I have got back to astronomy interest, my telescope is still in the box after moving from Scotland to Cumbria (South Lakes). So please be gentle with me.
