The weather has been unrelentingly rubbish for so long that I cannot remember what I looked at during my last observing session. Yes, I have missed some opportunities due to other commitments, and I had one spectacular night in Kazakhstan (makes up for everything, tbh). I haven't been on here as much (been looking on other forums (inferior to SGL, if you ask me!) for other hobbies).
But.
Astronomy is my passion. It is my source of inspiration.
I love it!

Hi
I have a Tal 1 reflector on its equatorial mount. It's a good quality beginner scope, loads of info on this site about them. Aperture is 110mm f/l is 800mm. It comes with two eyepieces and a barlow. It is well collimated as far as I can tell, the views of Jupiter are certainly as good as my Tal 100 refractor.
I acquired it for nothing, so you can have it for nothing too. But you'll have to collect from Watford, Herts.
If you're not interested in coming that far, no problem, I understand, and good luck in your search. If you are interested, I can email you some photos before you make the journey.
Regards
Roy

I was just looking at my avatar, and if anyone's wondering, it's an image of the annular eclipse of 2012 as viewed from Kyoto, Japan. My wife and I were on our honeymoon, I woke up at silly'o'clock and took several images, handheld through eclipse glasses.

Not been on here for some time - been doing a fair bit of cycling (4800 miles so far this year), just popped by to see what's going on. Good to see the regulars are still here and plenty of newcomers.
