  2. Dear all,

at the end of a sunny day I set up my largest telescope, the 10" f/5 truss-tube Dobsonian Martini to do a tiny chalk/charcoal sketch. I wandered the terminator up and down to select a target. Clavius and Tycho were already too bright, Aristarchus and Herodotus were still in the dark and once again a Gassendi sketch, I wasn't too keen on. I ended up pretty much at the southern limb and selected the area of Klaproth and Casatus:

  5. Dear all,

during these odd and hard days on our planet just staying home, I enjoyed having a look at the three-day old moon just for clearing the mind a bit. I spend relaxing forty minutes doing the sketch. Here it is:

Please can I use it to show to my GCSE Astronomy pupils as an example of what is possible when I ask them to make a sketch of the Moon? Some of their attempts so far have a long way to go!

    Hi,

yes, of course! Feel free to do so!

    Clear skies!

  7. Dear all,

after weeks of cloudy weather especially during the weekends, I got an opportunity to have a look at our home star and do a pastel sketch of the H alpha sun with some solar prominences and a group of sun spots.

  8. Dear all,
this morning, before going off to work, I started the day with a lunar sketch of lunar sunset before sunrise at home. I had put the 5" MAK outside over night, so it was properly cooled.
