Nice list. Why is the Celestron your favourite and are they a big step up over the Pentax?
Good question, my opinion is that the Granites feel better in the hand, the focussing is more precise and it snaps into focus quicker. They are slightly smaller and lighter and ergonomically fit a bit better, the minimum focus distance is about 3m so they are easy to carry around for terrestrial use. Optically I wouldn't say there's much between any of my binos and my eyes are probably the weakest link and I'm lucky because optically they are all good.
My Miyauchi and Fujinons show the least amount of CA closely followed by the Granites, Lunt and then the Pentax (still negligible) - I'd definitely recommend the Pentax ones as they are superb value for money and you won't regret buying them - I got mine from FLO for about £150

My wife can never have enough handbags so I say why not apply that rule to binos :-) - I'm now looking for a pair of 100mm 90deg binos if you have any recommendations, my favourites change from time to time depending upon what I'm doing with them.
Miyauchi 15x60 - 2nd favourite
Lunt 16x70 - 4th favourite
Fujinon 7x50 - 3rd favourite
Celestron Granite 12x50 - 1st favourite
Pentax 10x50 - 5th favourite

Happy to take one for the team !!! Prior to last night the last clear night was 24th August!!!!
My roof design is loosely based on the attached photos.

Looks like a simple and effective design. How is the roof sealed along the split line? Thanks, M

Altair Astro have been very helpful and flexible with me over the past couple of months. Ian agreed to a part exchange deal and he accepted the description I gave him of my secondhand equipment without question - Many thanks.
The new goods were delivered promptly and AA even paid for the courier to pick up my items that were being exchanged - Many thanks.
One of the new items (finder scope) was defective and they readily agreed to swop it for a better specified item, the replacement took over a week to arrive and I needed to chase them a couple of times to ensure that it had been dispatched.
The stuff they sell is very good, they are helpful and obliging and I'd score them 4 out of 5. They need to improve is their email skills for me to award them 5 out of 5.
Despite this I will still buy from AA again and would recommend them to others.

Dear Bambuko,
I had exactly the same issue as you, so I searched online and up popped your thread, I've copied you suggestion by turning over the crosshairs on the plastic disc and bingo it works.
Many thanks for brill tip.
Regards,
M
