  1. You are welcome I look forward to seeing your full dual setup :)
  2. Actually looks like there is a newer motor board firmware 3.33?
  3. App (iOS iPad) is Pro 1.19.0 and Motor Board is 3.32.A5
  4. I right I can see what you mean now Many Thanks. I didn’t want to force off the middle bearing on the RA which was stuck fast. I actually pressed each worm gear against the main axis gear drive and bolted in place ie they were not sprung anymore. I think I sort of got it working with my ASIair Pro but I had to set the aggressions in the guiding to very low percentages. I still think this mount is the best option for a portable system, hence I am keen to perfect it I decided to but the Williams Optics wedge (I had one of these before and was excellent) as the skywatcher wedge flexes too much and it very difficult to align and get decent polar alignment
  5. Really useful post but I think the first link for the SKF-619 is possibly incorrect, as this is a small ball race for a thin shaft and not a worm gear??? I replaced the main bearings but couldn’t remove the Dec inner spindle bearing, so I just greased it with Lithium grease and left it I removed all obvious backlash my ensuring the motor gears were fully meshed and fixed the motors hard up to the main gears (instead of relying on the springs to press the worm drive to the gear). That all said, I couldn’t calibrate the DEC on my Asiair pro It sort of works in RA mode only but still get star trails for 60 sec subs with my Redact51. I was really hoping the the Skywatcher GTI in EQ mode would be the perfect portable setup, but so far it’s been terrible. I got far better results with my IOptron Skyguider Pro, ie several minutes without trails ??
  6. The height is fixed but you can spread the rear axle (although they are not locked). You can also adjust the distance of the front wheel to the rear axle. I found that with my EQ6-R pro tripod fully extended, I could mount it on the dolly, so had to reduce each leg length by about 6 inches. The only issue I have is that I have it on the lawn and when you screw down the anchor bolts, they just drill into the lawn. So I need to either get some wood off cuts to put under them or 3D some sort of feet, to spread the load. I was also advised the bend the long handle into a curve, otherwise it keeps falling onto the lawn…
  7. Well I did buy the ScopeBuggy but as I said postage was $180 (£130) and I got charged another £90 customs+VAT. I didn’t know that HMRC charge Vat on the postage as well as the actual item you bought That all being said, it’s a very nicely manufactured and well designed buggy and my EQ6R-Pro sits on it perfectly. I also got the battery tray for my Jackory 500. I bought a MIG welder a while Bach, as it was something I wanted to learn and I don’t think it would be too hard to make a close copy (but smaller) for my AVX mount or light Tripod with Skywatcher GTI?? Just need some steel tubes, steel rod for axles and trolley wheels I do like the Sky At Night Dolley but wood it quite hard to completely weather proof.
  8. Indeed - I guess it’s worth varnishing to protect it from the elements ?
  9. Well it looks like postage to UK for the scope buddy is now ~ $380
  10. Greetings, I have a Skywatcher EQ6-R pro and I would like an easier way of moving it around my garden. I like the look of the JMI wheelie bars or the scope buddy but these are only available in the US Does anyone have any suggestions on alternatives available to the UK? cheers John
