Question is, what do y'all call the level in the ground?  We call it a basement.  Perhaps you call it the underground floor in keeping with the ground floor nomenclature or perhaps lower level as in an office building?

In a lift (elevator) it's usually called Lower Ground or LG.

Nice scope - I used to have an earlier version of the Revelation 8. My first dobsonian !

Yours is better turned out than mine was though

Thanks John.  It's a shame it doesn't appear to be available anymore, as it was well equipped with a Crayford dual speed focuser and cooling fan for about the same price as the equivalent Skywatcher.

  3. I was all excited when I saw the thread title - I though it was going to be "finally a huge sunspot has just started to rotate into view on the limb of the sun!"

    Nice bins though! 👍🏼

When I moved up to Vallis Schröteri, I noticed a dorsum that runs from the crater Nielsen to Mons Rümker. (upper middle to top middle in second photo). It's not named on my Moon Atlas though.

Good spot.  It's not labelled on any of my maps, but you can see it here on one of them:

I had a new SW Esprit 100ED delivered on Tuesday and I've already knocked up a solar filter for it. Looking forward to trying some imaging as what I'm seeing through it looks so much better than my old telescope.

Hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs, but do make sure the filter is securely attached and can't blow off in the wind.
