Okay, it's a nice image though, well composed, good tones and so on. Even the print is well placed.
But there is way too much jpeg compression! If you save as .png you get much cleaner results in the first place, and it will show up here in its original quality. An image as good as this deserves that!
Thanks for the tip on the .png. I have to admit that I dont really understand all these file types and will try that next time.

Oops---- In my over enthusiasm to get an entry in before the close I hadn't looked at the rules. I can't in all honesty say this was taken in the required capture dates so please discount or remove the image from the competition..........................

A friend has looked at one at Kelling today but with the weather there isn't anything much set up he could look through. My TAL100RS won't accept a 2" diagonal and eyepiece.,not enough infocus. Another friend had the rear of the tube cut down which I might yet do.

Well mine comes to focus with the ED80 & diagonal with only about 20mm of inward travel left.
Unable to see quality as its dark and there are no stars ( ok can see them through cloud enough to focus on them ).
Will try and give a go again over the weekend.
Could you try it during the day to assess the image quality please. I think edge of field problems would show up at least.

That sounds a good start. If you get chance to get a look at some stars I'd be very interested in what you think and how sharp across the field it is.

I have one of these somewhere, will dig it out and try it again...
please do and see what you think. Tal made some good eyepieces and wonder if this is one of them

I found this eyepiece and thought it looked interesting too. The only search I could find was someone on here that couldn't get it to focus in any of his scopes, I guess for the reason you have mentioned. I would love to know how it performs and what it can successfully be used in. Does the silver barrel unscrew? My thought is to remove it and shorten, then machine down 15mm of the the knurled part to the same diameter.

thanks, it did make a change from fiddling around in the dark & cold

not the best name for a company but I had an 1100d from Juan some time ago and couldn't fault the camera or service

you are making a great job of that, I like it alot.

Thanks Rio, I have a total of 3 images so far, blooming weather. I did pick this up from astro buy and sell, but I think skywatcher do one for thier 66mm, don't know if that will work.

Hi Dave, didnt know you were on SGL, I am still amazed that you are able to get 8 min unguided with your LX200 classic.

Hi Lee
I had hoped to have a fine tune to see if I can get it any better but it's been cloudy here for what seems an age. I reckon a bit more tweaking can be done.

I'd be very interested to see how the scope performs. I only remember the small range of Lomo Astels that had a fetching blue star pattern tube.
Has the big frac gone yet?

Oh that's really annoying, I just hate it when you buy something and the makers haven't got it right gggrrrrrr. Hope it doesn't take long to get sorted.
