    M42 & NGC1977

From the album: A New Hope

Orion & Running Man Nebula - Only 20 x lights due to cloud, hence more noise than I would like.

From the album: A New Hope

Image taken with a standard DSLR - 5 min subs x 40, processed in Pixinsight and finished in Photoshop; better than my first attempt!

Using the same data as the previous image I have re-processed using Pixinsight to improve colour; thanks to Harry Page for his great online Pixinsight tutorials.

    A Start

  9. From the album: A Start

The cloud beat me yet again but I did manage 13 x lights, darks, flats & bias using Borg Astro FL71 with standard Canon EOS 5D Mk2 before it clouded over.

    Orion Nebula

    From the album: A Start

I captured this image during December 2011 with the CPC925 and my unmodded 5D Mark 2; due to recent bad weather have revisited the image and tweeked with photoshop so thought I would upload.

As per the thread above I used the CPC925 without focal reducer and an unmodified Canon EOS 5D Mark II. The LPR is a Astronomik CLS which as far as I know are quite aggressive, however as I do not live in a city (my location is semi-rural / village but with cities to the north and south) it may be a bit over the top, but unless I spend another £100+ to get something more subtle I will not know what is the best solution. 15. From the album: A Start

Had a second go at M31 with a new scope hence no light polution filter or guiding; subs were only 18x75 sec.

    The Moon

    M13 & NGC 6207

    From the album: A Start

Managed to get a few usable pics with a limit of 200 sec per frame due to a very windy night! Managed not only M13 but also got NGC 6207 in the bottom left of the frame; will try again with longer exposures on a calmer night!!

Thanks Brian for the comment. I used my CPC925, Canon EOS 5D Mk 2 without focal reducer but with a light polution filter. Guided by Synguider with a ST80, however I am still getting to grips with the Synguider! Andy
