  1. Getting slightly better results by chucking away frames so each panel has 26. Good testing time though
  2. couldnt resist seeing if i could do a 4 panel mosaic of veil nebula. seems i can, but probably shouldn't. will try stacking again but with matching number of exposures. and maybe get more than 30mins per panel. had to bin 2x2 because pc blue screens when running this through star net at 6000 x 6000 pixels
  3. Think mine took 12:days, sorry. All the trackers I found for mine went from "sender is sending your package" for ten days to "royal mail your parcel is at sorting office" last two. I think svb could improve this a bit hope you get yours soon.
  4. Two hours astro dark is useful for me. I can polar align at like 10:20. No idea how that works. Going to try something ambitious purely for science next time it's clear. Definitely not tonight.
  5. No harm in having a fallback option, but I think Cuiv worked out how to do it by talking to the Devs. At least you won't have to do that. Now I have to go watch his video again it's a plugin for Nina managed dither ? I did think these setups are a bit silly and over the top, but doing RGB and dual narrowband at the same time is really appealing
  6. I might try it while my scope is running. Same camera 18-55 EF kit lens and tripod no tracker. View southy has houses though... Doubt I'll see core which is the best bit
  7. Many years ago I read some weird but decent vampire ish books part set in the Carpathians. Always wanted to visit, but now also for dark skies. No chance now if I need to consider bears helping me polar align.
  8. If you struggle with the master slave thing in Nina Cuiv has a video with a solution. Rather out of my league so I wasn't paying attention except thinking stereoscopic won't work well at the distances involved ;( No chance you can use the second scope as a counterweight?
  9. 2 bortles is a factor of 8 compared my bortle6 back yard. So if it were me I'd need to know if that extra 0.3 increased the factor of 8 enough to outweigh the 60 minute drive, lack of room service scary sounding eastern European wildlife lack of mains power and travelling family / companions I think I'd settle for just 8 times faster photon gathering Enjoy your trip!
  10. I'm finding background neutralisation and non photometric colour calibration helps. I still use photometric too. Graxpert seems a hindrance at the moment it seems to some remove detail during background extraction and also does some kind of weird stretch and green tint when saving out. Also a bit crashy.
  11. Ty for your kind words I'm trying my best not to look at others' images of my targets until I at least have a go myself. Nina's framing assistant ones don't count. I thought it looked ok in brown for a little while..... I managed another 90 ish minutes before rain last night, stacked them ok (there is a slight seam in histogram view) but graxpert background extraction seems to do a good job on the stitched result of both nights, I think it's removing some detail. Need to experiment a bit more before I can put another less brown version on here.
  12. Thanks both. Will see what I get with five hours.
  13. I'm aiming for 10 hours total. Might need more though.
  14. This is very little data, I was only bothering with it so much because it's been cloudy. I was worried about the colour, but not so much now. Just need to test I can do this with two sessions. Ty for the help I think colour correction and photometric colour correction in siril achieved at least a measure of what you recommendend. As for the background, hopefully more time on it and it might improve. Maybe.
  15. doesn't flat space suggest its infinite though? curved space would suggest its finite.
  16. ok final flogging of the horse with this one. my latest result is bluer but has some cartoon binocular gradients like a lobe around the right and left half of m31. unless they're stars? anyway, hopefully that will be reduced with more time on target. about 38x60sec one panel and 44x60sec other panel.
  17. this shows me its heading the right direction. more time on target it is, i think. bit more drama, less "smoke from forest fire" discolouration
  18. I paid the £2 extra at checkout for all tax included. Royal mail delivered it, no additional charges. Support from china is not ideal, but svbony got back to me with questions via email quick enough. If you're Nina based, I'd be interested in your offset. I used Cuiv's method and settled on 5, not 50 which seems common for other 533 based cameras from other brands.
