  1. What eyepieces did you get with the scope? I just realised, the Heritage is a Dob isn't it?! I think a decent wide field EP would be useful. Probably need to go no greater fl than a 32mm as I'm not sure if you would get secondary mirror issues with anything lower mag - perhaps someone else could comment! As for higher mag, I think a 10mm or 12.5mm would be as far as I would go. FLO have some Astro Essentials Plossls which have good reviews and are reasonably priced - not sure how they would perform to be honest, maybe give FLO a ring and ask ( I don't work for them!). Also, keep an eye on the classifieds if you want to keep the costs down and don't be afraid of trying things out. Hopefully some other Dob owners can comment on what they use most often. Good luck with your new hobby!!
  2. Hi Kevin, I don't have a 150p, but I don't think you would notice a lot of difference with a 150p. I also have a 130p GOTO, but have since bought two more scopes which I use now. The CPC800 is my favourite for ease of use - even though it weighs a ton (not literally!) I guarantee you will buy something bigger and better in the future - keep watching the classifieds!!
  3. I see lots of good reviews on FLO website - which I would tend to believe over the poor reviews on Google Play. But has anyone here used one and what did they think? Another related question - why is the Celestron dongle twice the blinking price of the Skywatcher unit. Surely they are similar hardware and firmware-wise?
  4. Damn good pictures!! Welcome back.
  5. The last post on a DIY power tank was about a year ago and I was wondering if anyone had successfully built a LiFePO4 based tank. I know Celestron have a ready built unit, which I'm sure is the bee's dooberries, but I wonder if it's worth building one. Currently using a lead/acid powered Celestron tank with a new 7Ah battery and a couple of other repairs which does a good job. The LiFePO4 batteries are quite pricey though!!
  6. Most important thing in my view is a mount which is future-proof and above all else STABLE! Last thing you want is the thing wobbling around, especially if you will be imaging, but also annoying for visual at high mags.
  7. Which is why it's rubbish that I am short sighted, astigmatic and slightly colour blind. Also have tinnitus in one ear, but I don't use that for astronomy!!

    Hello Again!

I see my old posts are still there! I used the same mugshot. Please advise if that's ok. I still look like that (unfortunately)!

    Hello Again!

Well, as I hadn't logged in for quite some time, my old freeserve email account being no longer accessible, I have had to create a new account. Feeling rather **** off about it to be honest! Never mind, worse things happen at sea. I'll have to try to get my post count back up by posting lots of annoying messages to everybody.... only joking!! ☺ Off to see if I can find some of my old posts.
