  1. Be good to know what people think of the 102 vs the 120 and whether he 120 would cope on the azi gti mount
  2. No not at all Geoff, always open to suggestions of what’s tried and tested 👍🏼 good to hear someone else is using this
  3. Thanks for this ..however after speaking to Rob Ince (local expert) I’ve deceive to go for the StarTravel 102 refractor which will suit my needs and budget perfectly- thanks again!
  4. It will be the 224 - it’s the best I have at the moment
  5. I wonder how the 72ED would fair for EEA ?
  6. Great advice thanks - I was considering the 80ed
  7. Fast focal OTA would need to be purchased - any ideas welcome Cam wise I’m looking at the zwo224
  8. Morning, whilst I’ve been gradually building my AP rig after years of visual I have decided to diversify down the EAA route and wondered what advice there is out there in terms of the OTA best suited for this, obviously I know F/7 or lower but which ??- I’ll be using the azi gti mount and tripod so payload is a factor, any advice welcome
  9. Hi there it all depends on your interests..personally for me I would always say start with a Mak 127 which is a fabulous scope for the moon and planets and the Azi gti mount which I highly recommend for easy of use portability and price point with its wi fi connectivity , but it’s all personal choice of course,https://www.firstlightoptics.com/sky-watcher-az-gti-wifi/sky-watcher-skymax-127-az-gti.html
  10. Hi thanks for this - it’s we for me wold be imaging, have another scope for observation but I wouldn’t be against sing it for that at some pint but it’s main purpose for me would be Astro imaging
  11. Good evening does anyone have any experience with this frac and if so what is your opinion of it ?
  12. thanks I’ve read these and it’s very subjective and not sure it answers my questions in which is better necessarily as they seem to contradict themselves tbh my use will be both AP and visual and I’m leaning the the eqm 35
  13. Could share a few links ? I’ve only seen very positive reviews
  14. Hi, does anyone know the differences between these apart form £10 in cost - payload looks the same and build quality is on a par and both look perfect for my needs , as I’m not interested in high payloads etc any opinion would be welcome also interested how they might compare to the SA GTI as all similar prices
  15. I’m in the same position as this - I’m waiting for the GTI and it’s looking like late spring before they are in, I’ve considered many options including the AZI GTI but agree you might as well wait than go down that route, however it depends on your urgency but I think you’ll be hard pushed to find a better portable mount imo - it’s worth the wait if you want the features it offers.
  16. Hi just after some advice please… if using my Mark 127 a 2x Barlow and a zwo120 colour cam to image the planets and moon is a guide scope and guide cam essential?
  17. Google him he has a website and runs star party events around Lancashire
  18. Yea probably not for me tbh but I imagine it would be very good for beginners looking to get into visual astronomy 👍🏼
  19. Often wondered about coming myself tbh, but assuming it’s mostly visual rather than imaging or am I wrong ?
  20. About 10 years now and just started to branch out into AP and slowly building a bespoke rig. I would recommend speaking to Rob Ince who holds events around the county he’s h is super helpful, approachable and has helped me no end !
