I have to say I always thought them to be the same 20kg, it is only the last year or I have seen 25kg tagged to its label. I bought mine when they came out. Now I know this I am thinking of giving the 12 SC a ride at about 18-19kg.
I had 18kg on a heq5 and it work ok , I try putting a 250pds on it and it was no good , will not hold in any wind at all. I got the az-eq6 just for that scope . Then the mount and scope was to big to fit in my 6x8 shed with out taking it down to close the roof. I give up .

I do any lathe work for you Gina ,its only a little lathe so not over 5 ins round or it not fit in.

Very nice reading all the posts I still like old scopes over new scopes, I got this D76.2 F1250 think it was last year try it did not like it back in the box till now , Was clear just before dark tonight and the scope been outside for just over a hour , Usein the old Swift Japan (T) 40mm with x2 then a 12mm and the Moon was looking good. still easy to move about for home to garden with just one hand ,So a lot of fun without lots of setting up. So it save for a bit longer.

I put a tray over the top so the rain run in the tray and drip out over the unit.
