Mark Thanks for the advice, my new problem is the lady I am buying the Tal 1 off has informed me that it has the old 32mm push fit eyepieces, and not the advertised 1.25", any idea where I might get some from? Many thanks Trevor

Hello Does any one know where I could source any Tal 32mm push fit eyepieces, as I can buy a Tal 2M without eyepieces or Barlow? Any suggestions would be great. Trevor

Thanks again for the advice it is invaluable to some like me starting out on a journey that began about 50 years ago when a teacher at school was kind enough to share his love of astronomy with a couple of us. Unfortunately life, family, and work derailed my love of space. Will take your advice and look for the baader bco, and sun filter. Will let you know how I get on. Trevor

Mark Many thanks, I was thinking of getting a white glass filter that fits over the front of the telescope to observe the sun, have you any experience of these types of filter. What would you say was the maximum useful magnification of the scope? Many thanks Trevor

Hi I am new to the lounge and looking to buy a Tal 1 as my first scope at the ripe old age of 64. I have read a great many pieces on the scope and feel it will be a good starting option, the thing is I want to get one with a 1.25" focuser, and hence the need to no when they stopped making the 32mm . If I can find the 1.25" verity this will open up the eye pice options, as I know after looking that 32mm Tal eyepieces are very difficult to find. I know others have moved the primary mirror up to enable focus on the 32mm verity, which I would prefer not to do. Any help would be much appreciated. Trevor
