Yes
I bought the S9 specifically for use with the Seestar. Not sure how it compares with and Ipad/Apple though
Thank you

On consideration I think a family holiday in spain or one of its islands is the way forward
-
Greenland’s not an option really for me as I’m hoping to make a family break of it - I image well opt for Spain 🇪🇸

Hi all
Where do you recommend for the 2026 eclipse- Spain (lower horizon but chance of clear skys and warmer) or Iceland - sun high in the sky but weather more risky cloud wise ?

has anyone use the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 for the SeeStar i wonder how it compared technically to the Ipad 2022 model - as ive always preferred the simplisity of the Ipad/Apple devices personally

Google around there have been several on these forums incl CN / YouTube, I think SS won out based on cost vs capabilities and ease of use !
Sorry perhaps my question was poorly worded, I get the S50 wins for certain economic/ capability reason but my question was more around if anyone has tried one of these and how good it was in comparison regardless of cost ☺️

Not sure why you would want to add it to an EQ mount , such short exposure time the mount will be fine as is - performs well as it’s intended imo

The Seestar is no good on planets due to short focal length. For the moon it'll be fine.
Tbf it’s not all that bad - personally had some good results on Jupiter

Thanks think I’ll just use the Seestar 👍🏼

Hi,
what camera would be recommended for lunar and planetary other than the zwo 224, recently sold mind as it was not great imo in terms of image quality
-
Having read the spec and looked into the various coating grades I feel bosun is right and that the celestron has low grade coatings than the skymax
-
Hi could someone recommend an upgrade to the zwo 224mc for planets and the moon predominantly
-
I’ll be surprised if there’s any difference

I owned a 150 and found that an EQ5 is the minimum I would use although the HEQ5 would be better. On the EQ5 pro I added an electric focuser to eliminate focusing vibration.

just out of interest im assuming the celestron 27 eq astromaster Mak is the same as the SW 127 but a good lot cheaper? it would therefore be more economical to buy this version and ditch the mount and add the OTA to an existing axi gti mount
