Committed to buy a lx200 10" with loads of kit, 3 years o.d and well looked after. Pick up next Friday so me and my boy excited. Hopefully more than just White dots from there on in.

No problem, good read too btw as I am looking to upgrade, thanks

Hi I posted earlier about the wobble issue, link can be seen in recent post some useful advise, easiest was attaching a heavy weight to the tripod, I stuck a 10 kg weight on my tray and lost most but not all the vibration. Auto focusers might be useful if you can find for your scope too seen for around £50 but might cost more for you as you have better scope.

I am making a lightweight Matt black light shield aka a plastic tube to fit to the end of my scope. As light weight I am hoping it will reduce ground level light pollution by making it 3 ft long. It can't help the ambient pollution but will see how it goes.

Couds, clouds, clouds slow week, oh and thunder for a bit of variety

Polar bears probably better company than some people here in uk Isabelle but not sure about those temperatures, hopefully Oz will allow for dark and warmer nights

Making me jealous Isabelle, hopefully we will resolve issue with light when we hopefully move to Oz later this year. Otherwise many nights in the car ahead.

Ok first night out with new kit, managed to get to see m42 with nebula filter and could clearly see cloud structure, could not het web cam working even when on Jupiter so more reading required. Having a few alignment problems but suspect this is due to missing tripod leg spreader. Main thing si my nine year old was amazed with nebula.
