It's the FI8918W and IR is switched on. The interface you see there is basic and a bit buggy but it works well enough, you can move the camera by clicking on the image or the controller top left. The six buttons to the right are pan up/down and off, left/right and off, IR on/off. Max resolution is 640x480.
Mine came from eBay via Hong Kong costing ~£50 all in.
The only problem I had was getting a reliable wireless signal, the distance from and construction of my house meant I had to run a cat 5 network cable for it, which I borrow for the laptop when I'm in there.
/edit I forgot, there's a handy Android App called IPCamera Viewer that works well with the Foscam.

Something I do with all my valuables and has been mentioned on the forums before is DNA tagging (search for smartwater and selectadna), a tiny dab of DNA in an ultra violet sensitive gunk can make your gear easier to identify if it ever does get stolen.

Never heard of them before, just had a look at the website and they look very nice (and good value)
Any chance you could PM me over a screen shot of your feed? I just want to a rough comparison of the quality compared to the IP cam I have at the moment
Here you go..

In my obs I have a motion detecting IP camera (foscam) set to email me if it is activated, I can also watch it via lan or web, add to that a very loud alarm.
The obs is a shed that looks like a shed which helps too.

Great experience from Opticstar, I ordered a Coronado PST on Wednesday after phoning to check they had stock. They had a very good price and were giving a free second eyepiece along with free delivery. The eyepiece arrived on Thursday morning by recorded delivery and the scope was due for delivery on Monday by DHL. Tracking showed it arrived in town early this afternoon so I called the courier (AJG Parcels) and was able to pop down and pick it up today.
Sathya at Opticstar was quick to respond to emails and kept me up to date with the orders' progress.
Big plus for AJG Parcels too, they deliver for many larger couriers and have never let me down.

As others seems to have had good/bad experiences with them I thought I'd add mine to the mix. Ordered a Telrad finder via the web site, no problems doing that and got a confirmation email, then nothing else. I waited over a week and with no money taken from my account and no contact I emailed asking if the order was going ahead so that I could figure out if I needed to try and find one elsewhere. Got a reply quickly saying that they'd had a problem with customs and that stock was delayed, they would be in touch as soon as the finders came in and would not charge my card until they had stock to send.
This was fine by me and about a week later I got an email saying that the finder had been sent, it arrived the next morning, well packed and working perfectly.
In all I had a good experience but Altair Astro need to work on their communications, I guess that they are suffering from the same apres' Stargazing Live problems which explains the lack of stock but not the bad comms.
7/10 I think, I would use them again.

Have you managed to set it up? one way to get used to it is to use it in daylight to look at a distant land object (pylon on the horizon kinda thing) this will give you practice in focusing and moving the scope around using the controls.

Yes is does allow you to do things that are not available from the installed software. You use WcRmac to set up RAW or Optimised RAW.
Thanks for that, I flashed mine tonight and there are indeed more options available, most notably exposure control in SharpCap.

I have just bought the spc880 will this not work on vista then? I have tried but to no avail do i need xp?
Vista is another kettle of fish altogether, I'm sure the camera will work but Vista is weird about letting you install/run things. What have you tried so far?

I don't think it does unlock anything you can't already do through software i.e. exposure control, sensitivity adjustment. I've not flashed mine but have not yet had a proper chance to use it.

Found a case today in Focus DIY. It's a black plastic small suitcase style and internally it measures 26cm wide by 15cm deep by 8cm high with twin lock down clips on the lid. Although it's part of their el cheapo crappo range (it comes in at £1.99) it's very sturdy and well made. It's completely empty inside, no dividers so you'd need to find your own protective material but in a way that's good as you can design it to fit your needs.

I should have said, that Foscam interface is built in and accessed via web browser so it should be fine on a Mac. I would set the camera up with a static ip using the supplied cat 5 lead before installing so you know where to look for it.
