Good afternoon, I have only just started to use a telescope and have a Celestron Astromaster 130.

I would like to know what i am doing wrong as the times I have looked at the moon. I dont seem to get a lot of close definition that I was expecting with a scope like this? how can I increase the power to see a better view of the surface or of other objects in the night sky? please could anyone help.

i think a lot depends on your budget, and what you want wide views high power low power whats your budget ?

A Barlow has really helped me see the surface of the moon in much detail since it multiplies the magnification by 2.
