I know i'm a newbie and a fresher so to speak but i'm hoping i've just seen Saturn in the SSE morning sky?? Very bright and quite low in the sky(excuse my lack of technical detail)...only have a 10mm lense in my scope but was sure i could make out the rings...or was that just my mind playing hopefull tricks???

:hello2:

I guess that all depends at what time you were looking this morning since both Venus and Saturn are out. One hour before sunrise, Venus would have been extremely bright in the sky. If it was Saturn you would definitely see the rings! There's no mistaking it.

Hi there..it was 7am and it was extremely bright in the slowly lighting up sky... i think in a few more viewings i'll be able to tell my Venus from my Saturns :)

I saw it as well the other morning and yes,.. it was Venus. Saturn will be reaching opposition in the beginning of April and will be very bright in the sky. I hope you can see it! I wish you clear skies!
