Olympus DPS I 10x50 - Collimation issue?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Just looking for some advice regarding the Olympus DPS I 10x50 binoculars.

When looking at the Moon or terrestrial objects, they perform great.

However...

When looking at stars (any star really) there seems to be a double image of the star.  Could this be a collimation issue?  If so, how would I go about correcting it?  I have adjusted the focus and the dioptic correction wheel on the eyepiece - with no joy.

The left hand (when holding them to your eyes) lens tube does rotate, is this natural?!

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
DKG
