Help meade etx 90 pe

Recommended Posts

I've tried the auto alignment set up but it doesn't ask for my zip code. I've went though the menus and put my info in but where it says zip code I can't put my post code in, due to no letters like dy6? And as for long and lat I don't really understand how to type it in. :-/.

Lat will be +53 35

Long will be -02 08

I think it uses + and - not North and West but could be wrong.

You are + for Latitude and - for Longitude.

Meades ask for Latitude then Longitude.

Time zone is 0, possibly -0.

You need to supply a name for the location/site, keep it short, WOL or WLV

This is easiest done by entering a custom site:

Select Item - Setup - Site - Add.

I think that the scope may ask for the Date and Time at this stage, you can ignore it at this stage.

Once you have the new site in then the scope uses this, until you select or set a new one.

There is the option to edit an existing location but it really is not worth doing, it is the same work and you have wrecked an entry, so just add your own.

P29 of the manual gives an idea of adding a new site, P24 gives the menu tree.

An alternative is to Reset everything.

Then the scoep asks for the everything, including what scope it is.

If the previous person did a motor training this is lost and again you still have to enter the same data - actually more this way.

Get a wide eyepiece for the 2 star alignment, and set the finder up for the 2 star alignment.

At the alignment give it the time and DST is ON. (For a while anyway).

Thank you ronin. I will have a go. As a complete novice I'm a bit overwhelmed with everything at the mo, it taken me an hour to get to focus. Lol.

I have a 26 mm eyepiece would that be ok to use for aligning?

Also with the long and lat I can't put the plus and minus in so what do put with that?

Cheers.
