Fireball - possible candidate?

Recommended Posts

Following on from my other post about the 'Fireball' I observed over Cardiff at 6.30pm last night which was also observed many others all over the UK...

I stumbled across this article just now and wonder whether this may possibly explain what we saw? http://www.irishmirror.ie/news/world-news/russian-spy-satellite-due-crash-3151118   There are a few other newspaper reports about it.

The Russian Kosmos-1220 satellite was due to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere sometime 'today' although it was apparently impossible to say precisely when or where this might happen (see article). So I guess it's possible part of it may have burnt up a bit earlier than expected?

Seems there's a small risk some of it could hit the earth although the Pacific Ocean was the most likely location.
