Focussing an SPC900 in raw mode

Recommended Posts

I'm currently using wxastrocapture for imaging (though I should be able to change that after today if it would help). I've configured the camera in raw mode, which means the image displayed on the laptop is as it appears before debayering. Not entirely surprisingly this makes it a bit tricky to tell when the image is in focus :D

Is a Bhatinov/Lord Y mask the way to go here, or are there any other ways to better see how well the image is focused? Should I just abandon raw mode altogether for planetary imaging?

James
