Hmm... all a bit technical for me. But playing around with Stellarium suggests that if I want to see the Moon/Venus close approach from England, I'll have to be looking east about 4 am, and it will be very close to the sun, so I would need a low horizon - flat land, or sea. From my home, by the time the moon clears trees etc, the sun will be overpowering it.
