first ever image

Hi,

After poor weather I got out last night to try to do some imaging for the first time. M42 (because I cab find it).

Megrez 72 on Orion Syview pro with clock drives. Unmodded Sony A200.

15 to 30 sec subs, with some darks and bias. Stacked in DSS, but with no other processing (I've only just downloaded Gimp).

Focusing was difficult as I don't have live view etc.

Any help and advice would be welcome. I need to practice!

Now thats a pretty good effort!

Really bump up the darks to reduce the noise and maybe composite a shorter exposure for the core it looks a tad burnt out.

Still there is some nice detail there.

Hope you dont mind I have a quick play with it.
