Goto upgrade?

Hello everyone. I have been meaning to get the goto upgrade for my EQ5 mount to get up and running with a guide cam/scope for DSO imaging and im wondering if it will be as good as buying the mount with it already built in? stability acuracy etc.. Im totally new to all this and dont want to spend big(ish) bucks then find out I should have gone down another route

Also could I use the nexstar ccd imager as a guide cam? I have seen some pics by a guy using the philips toucam pro II as a guide and a 300D to capture the image. They are soo good! any advise welcome Just need a nudge down the right road

Just bought Steves 'Making Every Photon Count' sure there will be some answers in there. Had my eye on this a while now
